
Deferral of Admission
Eligibility
- Must be actively enrolled in a program.
- Deferral requests must be submitted no later than 30 days before or after the program start date.
- One deferral is allowed per application, valid for up to 1 academic year. Future deferrals may be subject to completing other steps.
Deferral Request Process
Domestic Students:
- Complete the Deferral Request Form through Admissions.
- Provide a brief explanation of the reason for deferral.
- Indicate the desired new intake (Fall, Winter, or Spring).
- The student must meet all the admissions conditions on their current acceptance letter to defer.
International Students only: If approved, a new Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) will be issued if they have expired.
Review and Approval
- Reviewed by the Admissions Office within 10 business days.
- Deferral approval is not guaranteed and is subject to program availability. In addition, for programs with a health science application process, students may be required to complete it again.
- Students will be notified via email with:
- New acceptance letter and revised start date. A $250 non-refundable deferral processing fee will apply once the student receives their new acceptance letter.
- Or a denial of deferral and next steps.
Tuition Deposit & Fees
- The non-refundable deposit and deferral fee will be carried forward to the new intake.
