Oulton College Supports Riley’s Legacy Cat Rescue
A Community Effort for Animal Welfare
At Oulton College, we believe in the power of community and the impact of giving back—especially when it comes to animal welfare. That’s why we were proud to support Riley’s Legacy Cat Rescue in partnership with Global Pets Riverview as part of the Show Us Your Heart campaign.
Making a Difference, One Cat at a Time
Patsy Osmond, our Program Coordinator for the Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Assistant Programs, has been a longtime volunteer with Riley’s Legacy. This cause is close to her heart, and with her leadership, Oulton College stepped up to make a real difference.
For every $50 donated during a special fundraising event at Global Pets Riverview, Oulton College committed to providing a free surgery to spaying or neutering a Riley’s Legacy cat through our Veterinary Technician Program. In just three short hours, the community came together and raised an incredible $670—securing free spay/neuter procedures for 13 cats.
Why This Matters
Every cat that gets spayed or neutered means fewer strays and unwanted litters, which is a huge step toward responsible pet care. This partnership not only helped Riley’s Legacy receive essential donations but also allowed our students to apply their skills in a meaningful way while contributing to an important cause.
The Campaign Continues
The Global Pet Foods Show Us Your Heart campaign runs until February 26th 2025, and it’s not too late to help! For every donation received, Global Pet Foods will contribute an additional $1, providing even more support to local animal shelters and rescues.
With every contribution, you’ll help provide ongoing care, medical treatment, and a chance for animals to find loving homes.
