Cybersecurity 1

Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems from attacks, such as hacking, viruses and other methods of unauthorized access. It’s an important field that can be applied to many different industries.

In addition to information technology (IT), information systems (IS) are also important fields in cybersecurity. IS is similar but distinct from IT; it deals with how people use technology within an organization or group. The term includes areas such as business intelligence (BI), which helps companies make better decisions based on their data; project management software used for managing large projects; database management software used by businesses for storing customer information; and enterprise resource planning (ERP), which provides a single database across all departments within a company so they can share information more easily.

The cybersecurity industry is growing quickly, and it’s estimated that there are over 5 million people working in the field globally–a number that’s expected to grow in 2023. This means there are plenty of opportunities for those looking to get into this exciting field.

In fact, 92% of Oulton College Systems Management and Cybersecurity grads are employed within the first 6 months after graduation! The median salary for these positions ranges from $40k-$60k annually depending on experience level and location (with some even earning as much as $75k).
